Celebrants What are They?

Celebrants are people trained and authorised to conduct ceremonies such as marriages, funerals and baby naming ceremonies.

A marriage celebrant needs to be registered in order to meet the requirements of a legal marriage.

Celebrants are sometimes preferred over ministers to conduct weddings and funerals as the religious aspect of the service can then be ommitted.
